The Passage of the MOVE Act

Last week the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act was signed into law. This bill represents the largest overhaul in military voting since UOCAVA and the most substantial federal election law change since HAVA. Improving State Voter Registration Databases

Maintaining accurate registered voter rolls requires coordination and energy both to add first-time registrants to the database and maintain accurate registration information for existing voters. This report provides recommendations to improve the accuracy of voter registration databases. Read more »


"Making Voting Work" For Eighteen Year-Olds

A mailing campaign undertaken by the Washington Secretary of State focused on registering eighteen year-olds around the state to vote early. This report discusses the results of that campaign, finding that while registration increased among the target population, the cost of registration more than doubled per voter. Read more »
