As the first election since 1952 without an incumbent president or vice-president as a candidate, the number of new registrations for this November’s presidential contest is expected to be very high. A new report from Project Vote uses Colorado as a case study to explore a process designed to ease registration for low-income citizens—making forms available at public assistance agencies—and finds that the state has made some progress recently but that room for improvement still exists.
