Election Day Voter Registration in Iowa (PDF)
While its January 2008 presidential nominating caucus is receiving most of the election-related attention in Iowa, the state legislature made news recently when it passed a measure adopting election day registration. A recent report by R. Michael Alvarez and Jonathan Nagler finds that this change could increase overall turnout by almost five percent in the state.
