Results of Mobile Polling Study
Advocacy groups have long focused on making the voting process easier for particularly vulnerable sections of the population, ranging from military voters stationed abroad to non-English speakers. A new report explores an effort undertaken by Vermont during the 2008 election aimed at serving the state’s elderly population by sending trained workers to residential care facilities; it outlines the various benefits of such an approach.

Although the Senate recount in Minnesota resulted in a winner, questions still remained regarding the classification of unopened, rejected absentee ballots. A district court concluded that these ballots are public data and that the plaintiffs, state television news organizations, may view them.
