The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) has provided millions of Americans with increased opportunities to register to vote since its enactment in 1993, but researchers from Project Vote and Dēmos conclude that significant improvements can still be made in the law’s implementation. Following up on a series of state-by-state case studies, this new report highlights the need to improve reporting requirements and enforcement.
