Registration: Where are We Now? Where are We Going?
Though it was passed nearly fifteen years ago, the National Voter Registration Act, or "Motor Voter," still receives significant attention, particularly as the EAC is required to submit biennial reports to Congress on the law's progress and impact. Electionline.org also continues to summarize key state legislative developments on voter registration issues.

In a new analysis piece, the Election Reform Project's Tim Ryan takes a snapshot of a wide range of current election reform research projects.

Problems and Possibilities of Balloting by Mail  
As voting by mail and absentee voting have become increasingly widespread, new and distinct questions about ballot integrity, security, and administration have arisen. A new report from Project Vote highlights a number of these potential issues and lays out a series of recommendations to ensure that ballots cast outside polling places are sent to the right voters, filled out by those voters, and returned and counted properly.
