Declining Public Assistance Voter Registration and Welfare Reform: A Response (PDF)
Alvarez and Nagler critique an analysis of data on voter registration at public assistance agencies. Previous findings suggest that the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) is a major contributor to the decline of registration at public assistance agencies, and this research finds that the results attributing the decline to PRWORA are overstated.
